AN investment of £1 million has completed a six-year upgrade of telephone services.
A new digital exchange installed in Burnley is the latest in a £10 million programme to improve services for almost 80,000 lines in the area.
Said Chris Gregory of BT: "The switch to digital has brought state of the art telecommunications to the whole of the Burnley area. It is part of BT's £20 billion UK-wide modernisation programme,"
Following the latest change, five-digit telephone numbers beginning with 3 will be prefixed with 4.
