THE TOP brass turned out to congratulate Blackburn Air Cadets' year of achievement.
And for 16-year-old Cadet Anthony Farran it was a special occasion when he was presented with the Valley Memorial Trophy from Group Captain Bill Gambold, of RAF Linton on Ouse, Commandant of Air Cadets North Region.
Blackburn came out top of 22 units in the East Lancashire Wing. The squadron is based next to Witton Park and is open to boys and girls aged 13 to 18.
Parades are from 7pm to 9pm, Tuesdays and Fridays.
The cadets take part in a number of activities from flying, gliding, shooting, outdoor activities and a band. For more details contact the Squadron HQ on 01254 680435.
