OLYMPIC swimmers Suki Brownsdon and Steve Mellor are joining 400 schoolchildren in bid to raise £200,000 at Darwen Leisure Centre.
The sponsored swim next Wednesday at 10.30am aims to raise cash for the British Olympic squad's trip to Atlanta this summer. Swim for Britain, sponsored by Uncle Ben's, runs until July and 42 UK towns and cities are taking part.
Suki said: "Swimming is a great form of exercise and an ideal sport for anyone, especially when coupled with a healthy balanced diet. This type of fund-raising initiative promises to be great fun, and educational at the same time."
