CLUB sponsors Endsleigh Insurance today underlined their commitment to Burnley.
The Insurance giants will not be sponsoring the Football League next season after a new £5.25 million three-year deal struck with the Nationwide Building Society.
But today Endsleigh - who have pumped £1 million-a-season into the Football League coffers since 1992 - confirmed their continued support for the Second Division club.
"We have sponsored Burnley since 1988 and we have further commitment in place to take us to the end of the 1996-97 season," explained Endsleigh Marketing Operations Manager, Stuart Wartalski.
"In due course we will be having discussions with the club about our possible involvement in the future. In the time we've sponsored Burnley we've enjoyed a superb relationship with the club.
"The fact that we are no longer involved as the main sponsors for the Football League does not change anything with Burnley. As far as Endsleigh is concerned that commitment is as strong as ever."
The Nationwide deal coincides with the start of major television coverage for the Football League.
Over 60 live matches from the first, second and third divisions will be screened by satellite giants SKY - in addition to highlights shown by ITV.
