A YOUNG man is claiming his nose was broken and his face badly cut after he was beaten up in the street by two youths.

Riaz Malik, 27, was in Accrington town centre when he was set upon by two youths in unprovoked and brutal attack.

Riaz, of Blackburn Road, Accrington, was punched and kicked in the face by the two young thugs for several minutes.

And when he finally managed to get away Riaz said there was so much blood in his eyes he could not see where he was going.

Mr Malik, who was treated at Accrington Victoria for cuts and bruises along with his broken nose, is mystified about the motive for the attack.

He said: "I have seen these two youths around town on several occasions but I have never spoken to them before and I don't know who they are.

"When they came up to me they just started punching and kicking me but neither of them said anything to me, I just don't know why they would want to do this to me.

"They just beat me up for no reason at all, if I had not managed to get away from them when I did I am sure they could have seriously injured me."

Riaz has made a complaint to the police who took a photograph of his injuries.
