A SUCCESSFUL East Lancashire jeweller has been head-hunted by GCSE students in Scarborough to give them an insight into setting up a new business.
Lord Odin, who owns the Vall Hall Jewellery and Gift Shop in King William Street, Blackburn, was contacted by a student at Pindar Secondary School to ask if he could provide an information package.
The student said he had been recommended by Peter Lancaster, head of Business Studies at their school, who had lived in the Blackburn area and been impressed by Lord Odin's shop.
This was set up 20 years ago to sell unusual jewellery.
When Lord Odin contacted the school they persuaded him to travel to Scarborough to give them a lecture.
"I want the students to go out and do their homework first and talk to jewellers and then we will organise the lecture like An Audience With... and they can ask me questions," Lord Odin said.
"I have done talks before for the Rotary Clubs, Women's Institutes and Masons but never for schoolchildren. I'm going to try to make it entertaining with funny stories.
"One side of me is quite nervous as they might ask questions I can't answer but the other side thinks, they are only 16, how bad can they be?"
The lecture is planned for June 20.
