HYNDBURN AC scored their second win in a row in the Northern Mens League Division Four meeting at Pendle.
Rory Birbeck had a great match with a winning clean sweep in the throws. This included a fine personal best 45.50 metres in the discus and a hat trick in hammer, shot and javelin.
Neil Tattersall scored a strenuous double in A 5000m and B 800m and another middle distance winner was David Thornton in the A 800m.
Anthony Ward took the A 110m hurdles and Ian Coffey the B javelin and shot. The 4 X 400 metres relay team won the last track event to round off a good day.
Up in Division Two Blackburn Harriers had a handful of notable absentees but still notched a third place to back up their win in the opening match.
Mark Birchall and Jon Wiggans had double wins. Mark took the A long jump and B javelin and John the B high and triple jumps.
Another double winner was Boomi Fayomi who followed his school's success of the previous day by taking A triple jump and B long jump.
Back from injury, Michael Green won the B 800m and Rob Brocklebank only needed one trial to settle first place in the A high jump. Ken Taylor once again took the A javelin.
Pendle AC took fourth spot in their home match in Division Four.
They had only one winner, Adam Kostilek in the A high jump, but there were enough seconds and thirds to produce a good team score.
Burnley placed fifth in the same meeting. Again, they had only one winner, John Walsh, but he did the trick three times with a hat trick in A discus and shot and B hammer.
