A 36 years-old father of five died after being crushed in a horrific accident outside his home.
Bernard Lester, of Cranworth Avenue, Blackmoor, Tyldesley was trapped las he removed the engine of a friend's car. The car was being dismantled for spare parts.
He was dragged out and taken indoors but later, after feeling unwell, he was taken by ambulance to Hope Hospital. He died five hours later on the operating table. He suffered extensive internal injuries.
He, his wife Pauline and young family aged between five and 14, formerly lived in Derwent Street, Tyldesley.
An inquest into Mr Lester's death opened on Wednesday. The funeral is on Friday morning at Tyldesley St. George's.
