MAY I thank everyone who contributed to make the recent Hilton Park gala weekend so successful and enjoyable.
Firstly, a huge thank you to those companies and individuals who sponsored events and donated goods and prizes, with special mention to ASDA and Concrete T.S. Ltd, who generously contributed to the cost of the big marquee.
I am indebted to all my fellow fund-raisers from Leigh Centurions and Leigh RMI, who voluntarily gave so much of their time, to organise and run the events, as indeed did the staff of both clubs and the Centurions' players.
Most of all, however, I would like to thank the public of the Leigh area, who turned out in their hundreds to support the events and enjoy themselves. Watch out for future opportunities to have a good time at Hilton Park.
Finally, we are waiting for the two major prizes of the week to be claimed:
Colour TV - winning programme number 0564.
50/50 draw - ticket number 0219 wins in excess of £450.
Prizes can be claimed at the club office, on production of the winning programme and ticket.
Guessing the cake weight (6lbs) was won by Adam, of Walmesley Road, and the number of sweets in the jar (175) went to Leigh player John Perigo - a fair reward for the soaking he took in the stocks!!
