CHART-TOPPING Scottish dance outfit Q-Tex paid a flying visit to Preston to play their latest hit.
Two band members - currently at number 30 in the UK charts with Let the Love - dropped into HMV on Fishergate to promote the new single.
About 20 people turned up for the impromptu gig, although others were attracted off the street when they heard the group play.
They previously reached number 41in the charts. Their latest song is a giant leap forward for the Glaswegians, according to vocalist Gillian Tennant, aged 24.
"It's great. We are higher than I imagined, but then again I'm a pessimist and look on the bad side of everything."
Fellow band member Scott Brown, 23, who is also a DJ, said the band had concerts lined up in the south of England.
"As long as the singles keep charting I'm happy. We are selling more records than George Michael back home," he added.
Student Simon Harper, 19, from Preston, who was among the crowd, said: "It's the first time I've heard the song. I reckon I will be buying a few more of their records."
