A DROPPED ball cost Glazebury dear as they hung on for a draw in the Cheshire Association derby at Appleton.
The home side's healthy innings of 199-4 was spearheaded by Mike Arnold, who was dropped when he had scored just two but went on to hit 92, and Anthony Hurst's 69.
Arnold was also in high form with the ball, picking up 7-32 as Glazebury reached 155-8.
Andy Durrington was the best of the Glazebury bowlers, taking 3-55, while on the batting front Gareth Banks (63) and Graham Harrop (40) took the side along in fine style.
The 2nd team game at Glazebury also ended in a draw, the home side reaching 145-9 with Roger Davenport a fine 45.
Appleton appeared to be struggling at 60-7 but they were still there at 132-9, Stuart Caller taking 5-55 and Davenport completing a fine game at 4-44.
