TWO men posing as water board officials stole £60 from the home of a 91-year-old woman.
The conmen called at the house in Cleveland Street, Peasley Cross, at about 12.55pm on Monday, June 10, claiming they had been sent by the water board.
After the woman let them in, one went straight to the kitchen and turned on the taps, while the other went into the front room. When they left the pensioner discovered the £60 was missing.
One of the men was white, about 17 years old, slimly-built and clean shaven. He had cropped, mousey-coloured hair and wore a dark coat. The other was also white but older than the first, similarly built with a scruffy appearance.
If you were in the area at the time, or think you recognise the men, you can contact the St Helens Crime Management Unit on 0151 777 6050 or ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.
