IWRITE in response to the article 'Granny's Penny-Pelting Protest on Homes Cash' (LET, May 30), when Mrs Audrey Hannah threw fistfuls of coins during a meeting of Burnley Council Housing Committee.
I am amazed at the lengths to which this publicity-seeking senior citizen will go in order to hog the limelight.
Mrs Hannah has brought the issue of shortage of cash to a low level by turning a council meeting into a circus.
How are decisions supposed to be reached by councillors who are in fear of injury? Mrs Hannah has done more harm than good.
If Burnley Council is so genuinely short of cash, perhaps it could approach Mrs Hannah, as it seems, this generous grandmother had so much money she was literally throwing it away!
