LOWERHOUSE followed disappointment against championship rivals Todmorden with a victory in their derby match with Burnley on Sunday.
Shawn Flegler, bowled for a golden duck in the seven-wicket home defeat on Saturday, made 53 not out against Burnley.
With the help of Nick Hope, who hit 65 not out, he helped the West Enders to a nine-wicket win at Turf Moor. Burnley made 162-9 and Lowerhouse lost only the wicket of opener Stan Heaton as they reached 163.
Similarly, Nelson took revenge in their Sunday match with neighbours Colne after suffering defeat at Haslingden on Saturday.
Nelson batted first at the Horsfield and made 226-5 as Joe Scuderi made 63 and Paul Garaghty 55. The Australian professional also took three wickets to help restrict Colne to 205-9.
A good all-round batting performance by Haslingden saw them reach 209-8 on Saturday. Scuderi (20) and Richard Madden (30) made useful knocks but the Seedhill side fell short on 184 all out.
