SINGER Chrissie Rey continues to hit the high notes despite being told she has only months to live.
Chrissie, 34, has terminal cancer but is determined the show will go on.
On Wednesday, June 19, she will be on stage at the Guy Fold Cabaret Club, Padiham, for the first of two concerts to raise money for the Christie Hospital, Manchester.
She is also recording a CD with friends as a celebration of her life, writing her life story and studying for a BTEC diploma in popular music and for a piano theory exam.
Chrissie, who lives in Manchester Road, Burnley, is a popular singer at pubs and clubs around East Lancashire. For some years she travelled abroad with her ex-husband, guitarist Ian Rockcliffe.
The couple are still good friends and the "Chrissie Duo'' will be together on stage at next week's concert.
Chrissie first found she had breast cancer two years ago. An operation was thought to have left her cancer free but the disease spread.
Chrissie is too busy and too determined to waste time feeling sorry for herself. She is planning a trip to America and, as musical director with the St James's Players, Briercliffe, intends to be around to direct Alice in Wonderland in December.
Chrissie wants other women to be aware of her experience. She says she was not given the option of having her breast and lymph glands removed at the time of the first operation.
Chrissie thinks that, had it been done, the cancer might not have spread.
She said: "I just want other women to learn from me and to look at all the options when breast cancer arises.''
Tickets for the charity show are £5 from the club, from Howard's hair shop in Burnley Road, Briercliffe or the Latin Quarter in Cow Lane, Burnley.
