BURNLEY'S Portuguese international target has arrived at Turf Moor - but his identity still remains a closely guarded secret
The so far unamed international arrived in Burnley today and was immediately shown around Turf Moor and the Gawthorpe training facilities by the Burnley player-chief.
Then Heath conducted further talks on a possible move to England. And today - after a second round of talks - the player-chief whisked the Portugal star off to Elland Road for tonight's Group B European Championship fixture between Spain and France at Leeds.
The player is expected to return to Portugal tomorrow and may make a decision over the next week.
"He is a young man with a lot of talent and I believe it would be a major coup if we can persuade him to come join Burnley," said Heath. "Nothing is going to happen overnight as regards a transfer but I've put the wheels in motion. I do not want to reveal his identity yet because I don't want other clubs alerted."
Heath ran the rule over the Italian European Championship squad after he was invited to watch them train at Alsager College near Crewe on Thursday.
Burnley are selling off sets of kits used by the first team and reserve team squads last season. They are on sale at the club shop priced at £200 on a first-come first served basis. Contact Pete Davis on 01282 700016.
