FOUR cats and two newborn kittens dumped at a Pendle kennels are running out of lives unless new homes can be found.
The four young adult felines have spent the last six weeks at Avalon Kennels, between Nelson and Trawden.
Kennels owner Sandra Preece explained: "At the end of April someone rang up saying their house windows had been smashed and asking how much it would cost to kennel their four cats and two dogs.
"Trying to help them I went and picked up the cats and they said they would contact me again later that day, but they have just dumped them on me.
"They have moved house and although Pendle Council have forwarded my letters to their new address they have not been in touch.
"I told them if they could not afford to pay I would accept just a contribution towards the cats' feed.''
The kennels will shortly be fully occupied as the local holidays draw near.
Sandra said: "One of the cats has had two beautiful little grey kittens.
"But if I cannot find new homes for them, regrettably they will have to be put down.''
Anyone who wants to help can ring the kennels on 01282-613992.
