WHAT a wonderful Opinion column in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph on June 11 about poorly paid old age pensioners.
It mentions that British pensioners are the poorest paid in Europe, which is quite right.
But I'd also like to point out that all Spanish pensioners receive double payment at Christmas and British OAPs get £10.
Also, on reaching the age of 80, the British OAP is given 25p a week extra.
Isn't it an insult? What can 25p buy today?
