WE are writing to implore John Major to introduce legislation to remove all revolvers and automatic-type hand guns from lawful possession.
They are not target or sporting guns in any sense of the word and have only one purpose, which was made obvious at Dunblane.
A gun licence should apply to only one weapon, and the desire for more guns by the holder should require another licence application and sanctioned before purchase.
Readers who feel, as we do, that Dunblane and Hungerford were avoidable tragedies, should make their feelings known to the authority - by writing to the Prime Minister or to the head of the Dunblane Inquiry, Lord Cullen, at the Supreme Courts, Parliament House, Edinburgh EH1 1RQ.
