A COMMUNITY worked together to produce a gala day at the local neighbourhood centre.
Members of staff and residents of the Shadsworth estate, Blackburn, enjoyed the fruits of their labour with a sunny day for all the family at the neighbourhood centre.
The Mayor of Blackburn, Councillor Mary Leaver, was guest of honour, and youngsters enjoyed entertainment from a clown and played on a bouncy castle.
Anne Eaves, youth community worker at the centre said community group Action Factory had also helped to make the day a success.
She said: "The idea of the day is to bring the community together although we do hope to have raised some money towards the centre funds."
A series of workshops was held leading up to the fun day to help get more of the community involved.
