AUSTRALIAN pop promoter Harry Washburn has taken up a famous Down-Under theme tune since he came to live in East Lancashire.
He reckons "Everybody needs good neighbours" and is now planning a charity concert in aid of teenager John Aspinall, who has suffered from water on the brain and epilepsy since birth.
John's parents, of Maudsley Street, Accrington, ensure he enjoys as normal a life as possible and have taken him on trips to the famous Institute of Human Achievement in Philadelphia, which cost £5,000 a time.
Harry, who came to East Lancashire with South African band Leash last year, said: "As a new band in the area, I believe the most important thing to do when you become part of a community is to take responsibilty for your neighbours.
"The boys in the band love to play and it seemed an ideal opportunity to help someone out."
The charity concert will be held at the Grand Ballroom, at Churchills, Accrington, on June 29.
On the bill are local bands The Cornerstones, K-Billy, Tailback and Leash.
John's mum Evonne said: "It's brilliant - really good. Harry has put in a lot of effort to make this work."
Tickets for the event are £2.50 in advance and £3 on the door.
Harry also plans to auction Blackburn Rovers merchandise, a dinner for two at the Dunkenhalgh hotel and meal and drink vouchers at any Brewers Fayre pub. He added: "I'm looking forward volunteers to help co-ordinate the night."
