DEVELOPER Citypark Land has submitted a planning application for a retail development on the site of the former Associated Dairies, near Eastgate, on the outskirts of Accrington.
So far, prospective tenants are Netto Food Store, Poundstretcher and Halfords with a fourth retailer still in negotiation.
If the plans for the four retail units and a car wash are granted and the site is sold to Citypark by joint owners Hyndburn Council and MD Foods, work on the site could begin late this summer.
At a personnel and general purposes committee, director of development services Nigel Rix said the regeneration of the site, which is now derelict, would enhance Accrington town centre.
