A SECOND round three-under-par 70 put Ged Furey firmly in the hunt for the Glenmuir Club Professionals' Championship at County Louth Golf Club in Ireland.
After a first round level-par 73, it gave him a halfway total of 143 and a share of sixth spot, five shots behind the leader, former European Tour player Bill Longmuir from Stonyhill. Defending champion Paul Carman from Burnley fired a second round 77 and missed the cut.
Clitheroe's John Twissell shot 72 yesterday for a tie of 39th position.
Former Chorley Professional Paul Wesselingh finished right on the cut mark of 149 to stay around for the final two days.
