TALENTED Philip Gerrard has given up a 20-year career in estate agency to become a professional artist.
The former Rainford High School pupil, who was brought up in Windle, specialises in still life paintings, reminiscent of the Dutch masters. And his works can command anything from £1,000 upwards.
Philip (38) who now lives with his wife, Gillian, in Oriel Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield, said: "I don't regret giving up my job as an estate agent and it's really great to be able to work at something I enjoy doing.
"I am self-taught and every painting I complete is an achievement. My ambition in life is to make every painting better than the last and I hope that I can carry on doing that."
Philip's paintings are sold through two art galleries in Britain - Beckstones in Greystoke, Penrith, and the Victoria Gallery in Widnes.
