THE WORLD fell in on Ray Ainsworth when lightning struck his home during a powerful electrical storm in Burnley. There was a huge flash and a bang which blew him three feet in the air - and the ceiling crashed in on him.
Mr Ainsworth had just settled down to watch the Test match on TV at his home in Harefield Rise when the bolt struck. The lightning strike also wrecked videos, TVs and telephones throughout the area.
