ONE OF Blackburn and Darwen's seven county secondary schools was in danger of the axe because of falling pupil numbers.
With Lancashire education committee poised for an autumn review on admissions to secondary schools, Blackburn and Darwen were faced with a surplus of about 330 places.
And because the surplus was unevenly distributed, some schools would be full to capacity while others would be very low on numbers.
