VILLAGERS flocked to celebrate Read annual gala day and raise money for the pensioners' Christmas party.
Clubs, groups and organisations arranged stalls and games and on the field the children competed in races.
Entertainment was provided by award winning Towneley High School band who played throughout the afternoon.
Parish councillor Peter Bolton said last year 149 pensioners enjoyed a party, with the gala day being the biggest fund-raiser. A raffle was held specifically to raise money for the event and all the stalls made a contribution as well as fund-raising for their own causes.
