ALL EYES were on the skies as aerobatic displays kept the crowds holding their breaths at the first British Aerospace Families Day.

A crowd of more than 25,000 was estimated to have passed through the gates at the event at the Samlesbury plant.

Visitors were entertained by daredevil displays of loops, rolls and wing walking during a two-hour demonstration with fly-pasts from jets including Harrier, Hawk, Tornado and Spitfire.

Three arenas provided families with continuous entertainment, with displays by the Auto Angels, an all girl motor cycle stunt team, Red Rose Majorettes, ATC Marching Band and Colne Royal Morris Men.

People had the chance to look round the planes on display, see how the aircraft are assembled and could take part in the various games and attractions on offer.

Children were also not disappointed with Punch and Judy shows, a bouncy castle, ball pond and magician to keep them entertained.
