AGE Concern Blackburn and District has been overwhelmed by the support and goodwill shown to us since we opened our new charity shop in Market Street, Darwen, two weeks ago.
We have received a generous response from 'Darreners' and would like to say a big thank you.
However, such has been the demand that we are urgently in need of more donations of clothes and bric a brac and we are anxious to expand our team of shop volunteers.
Our pledge to use the money raised from the Darwen shop to directly run our services for Darwen's older people has caught the local imagination.
We would ask anyone who can help to call into our shop at 3 Market Street, Darwen, or telephone Blackburn 664242.
PAULINE WALSH, Chief Officer, Age Concern, Blackburn and District, King Street, Blackburn.
