MORE THAN 200 jobs were to go in the latest body-blow to East Lancashire's hard-hit textile industry, it was announced today.
Carrington Viyella planned to scrap many of their looms at their Holmefield Mill plant in Barrowford, with the loss of about two fifths of the workforce.
Workers were told of the job losses and although some redundancies had been expected, the numbers came as a shock.
