AS world triple jump champion and record holder, I am training heavily for the Olympics now, but I wanted to take a few minutes out to encourage readers to accept their own physical challenge this summer for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund.

Over the weekend of July 20/21, Imperial Cancer are encouraging individuals and teams of four to have a go at the Krypton Factor assault course at Holcombe Moor, near Bury.

It is a unique chance to take on the actual course used in the TV series, have a lot of fun and raise vital funds for a great cause.

We all know someone who has been affected by cancer.

With readers' help and support, the dedicated doctors and scientists at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund can continue their work on the prevention, treatment and cure of this terrible disease.

To find out more about the Krypton Factor assault course or others ways to help, please ring 01925 220688.
