ACTION is to be taken to stop a Darwen firm using a rear access road to its premises.
Weltonhurst Ltd had temporary permission to use the access while work was going on to re-roof a building at the back of the mill.
But the route is still being used, despite warning letters to the company, Blackburn planning and highways committee was told.
Councillors agreed to serve an enforcement notice requiring the access to be closed.
At the same meeting, councillors were told a petition had been received from neighbouring residents who object to a planning application by Weltonhurst for a staff car park and open storage with access for commercial and private vehicles via Avondale Road.
The issue will be decided at the next committee meeting in July.
