A BREWER has received a prestigious award for its commitment to training and development of staff.
Blackburn-based Thwaites Inns has been presented with an Investor in People award, partly for its training programme for 595 bar staff which covered topics such as customer care, first aid and food hygiene.
Thwaites had to demonstrate a strong commitment to developing its staff in line with corporate goals and objectives.
John Watson, Retail Director at Thwaites Inns, said: "Investing in people is essential for commerce and industry as people are a company's biggest asset.
"We are absolutely delighted to have achieved this prestigious standard. It means that every one of our pubs offers a warm welcome and quality service."
There are now over 400 East Lancashire employers committed to achieving Investors in People recognition with 88 having achieved the standard.
The award was presented by East Lancashire Training and Enterprise Council at The Britannia, Haslingden Road, Oswaldtwistle.
