A NEW group has been formed in a bid to bring residents together through a series of community events.
BEACH - Blackburn East Area Community Help - wants people of all ages to join and come up with ideas for events for people in the Audley Range, Whitebirk and Accrington Road areas of the town.
Three 'fun days' have already been organised for August and plans are in the pipeline for a series of other events in the future.
Secretary Derek Estill said: "There isn't an awful lot going on in these areas and it does tend to be forgotten about when it comes to funding and grants. At the moment we're sorting out events that everyone can take part in."
The group is planning an open meeting at Accrington Road Community Centre on July 18, where they hope the public will go along with ideas for future events.
Fun days will be held on August 10 at Westbury Gardens United Reformed Church, Accrington Road and at Intack Primary School on August 17. Another day is planned for August 24.
Anyone who would like further information on the group should contact Mr Estill on 852804 or chairman, Father Peter Hapgood on 263259.
