PLANNING policies and land use in Wyre until 2006 will be the subject of public consultation during the next six weeks.
Following an earlier consultation exercise during November and December 1994, Wyre Borough Council has now prepared its final proposals for the borough-wide local plan.
The document sets down those planning and land use proposals which will both guide and direct development over the next ten years.
It also provides the framework against which the council, as local planning authority, will determine planning applications.
The plan covers housing, shopping, transportation, industry, employment, tourism, recreation and open space.
Councillor Richard Anyon, chairman of the policy and resources committee, said: "The response to our earlier consultation exercise was extremely good but the council is aware some issues remain contentious, so I am anxious the policies and proposals of the plan are widely publicised and well understood."
Ian Smith, planning and transportation officer, added: "This consultation exercise is a statutory requirement in the plan making process and the regulations and procedures are precise and must be followed.
"Previous representations and objections are not taken into account and must be re-submitted."
Copies of the local plan are available for reference at the Civic Centre, Poulton, Cleveleys area office, Fleetwood library and Poulton library.
All objections and representations relating to the proposals should be sent in writing to the Planning and Transportation Officer, Wyre Civic Centre, Breck Road, Poulton FY6 7PU, by August 5.
