A LINE-UP of top boy bands are among the stars set to have teenagers screaming at this year's Party in the Park.

Famous acts already lined up for the free gig - to take place in Avenham Park on July 6 and 7 - include Let Loose, Sean Maguire, Peter Andre and Upside Down.

Also taking the stage are Lisa Moorish, Dana Dawson and 4-Mandu with Rock FM claiming it has many more surprises up its sleeve, with several bands still to be announced.

The Red Rose Gold line-up on Saturday evening includes some of the best talent on the Northern circuit such as Gaga - a Queen tribute band, and 70s superstars Lindisfarne.

Also making an appearance are the Preston-based band Baboon with two other great local bands - Obvious Bob and Blofeld - playing on the Sunday.

Thousands are expected to attend, with huge crowds predicted for Rock FM day (Sunday) when the big names will be playing.

Director of Preston Leisure, Brian Manning, said: "We're expecting our best year ever and people should arrive in plenty of time, although anywhere in Avenham Park gives a great view!"

Rock FM programme director Mark Matthews said they were hoping to add to the list of celebrities: "There are more surprises to come and as soon as we've written contracts, we'll be announcing names on air."
