THE Tom Finney Story is more than an account of a great footballer, it's about having a dream and making it happen.
That's how Claire Moore who co-wrote the play Legend! regards it and she should know, having interviewed hundreds of people who recall seeing the great man in action.
Claire explained how it grew from the seeds of an idea into the major production it is now: "Everyone has a Tom Finney story, whether they're interested in football or not. He's a local hero. Everyone wants to talk about him and tell you about when they met him or watched him play."
Claire has finished co-writing and rehearsing the play with her partner John Woudberg. Together they form the Certain Curtain Theatre company, which they set up seven years ago after getting fed up of performing other's people's work.
Legend! is their most ambitious project to date.
On Monday and Tuesday, next week (July 1 and 2) they will present Legend! The Tom Finney Story in the Great Room of the Tom Finney Stand at Deepdale, at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £5 available from The Townender Store in St George's Shopping Centre or the PNE kit shop.
