THE British High Commissioner for Mauritius will be giving East Lancashire companies an insight into how to break into the thriving island republic next month.
Tim Andrews has been invited by the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce to talk about life on the island in the western Indian Ocean.
Mauritius has seen a rapid development of its textile and clothing industries and the island is now the world's third largest producer of woollen goods.
Other well developed sectors include electronic component manufacturing, and the Government is keen to attract new industries.
As well as opportunities on the island itself, it also provides a springboard for UK exporters to gain a foothold in the African market.
Mr Andrews' presentation, which will help local firms broaden their knowledge of the market, will be held at the chamber's offices at Clayton-le-Moors on July 30. For details, call 01254-388900.
