RAC Service patrol man Gary Heyworth has proved he's wheelie the best when it comes to fixing broken-down cars and handling their frustrated owners.
Gary, of Yew Tree Close, Chorley, has won the RAC North West Region Service Patrol of the Year at his second attempt, going one better than last year's runner-up spot.
The 25-year-old had to show his flair for the job by successfully tackling a number of breakdowns, giving a talk about his work and dealing with customers.
His success earned him an adventure weekend at Greystoke Castle, near Penrith. He will now go on to represent the region in the national finals, which will be held at an RAF base near Telford on August 3, where he will be bidding for the coveted RAC Patrol of the Year 1996 title.
Gary, who has worked for the RAC for nearly three years and is married with two children, said: "I am really pleased to have won and I am looking forward to taking part in the finals. My family, friends, and colleagues in the North West are going along to cheer me on and I hope to do well."
