DETAILS of lottery and Government cash bids for the future of Marl Pits sports complex will be discussed when members of Rossendale's leisure sub-committee meet on site tomorrow.
The sub-committee has already met with organisations who use Marl Pits to discuss the bid for lottery funds and an inclusion in the 'Revitalising Rawtenstall' bid for Single Regeneration Bid funding.
Rossendale Athletics Club have suggested a new surface for the running track, the construction of a sprint track, provision of an indoor track and the building of a stand.
Rossendale Sports Club have put forward proposals including a second-storey to the existing building, incorporating viewing facilities and improved changing facilities, better access and parking at Meadowhead football field and provision of basketball and cricket facilities.
Rossendale Ladies Netball league would like to see indoor training facilities, floodlighting at the existing netball pitch and new pitches and also improved changing facilities.
Rawtenstall Swimming Club have proposed the construction of a small teaching pool, improved storage, provision of ASA teacher training and a dry land training area.
Rossendale leisure services propose a fitness suite combined with a GP referral scheme, 'Healthy Lifestyles' involving a partnership with the East Lancashire Health Authority.
The group will meet on site tomorrow to agree which elements should be included in the cash bids.
