The blast rocked the centre of Preston, wrecking a joint RAF and Royal Navy recruiting office and bringing a warning that the terrorists may be about to launch a new bombing campaign throughout the region. The 10lb bomb blew off part of the recruiting centre roof and smashed windows throughout a large part of the shopping centre.
