CELEBRATIONS marking 1,400 years of Christianity in the village of Chipping reached a climax at the weekend.
Local children dressed as animals formed part of a mystery play on the theme of Noah's Ark And The Mighty Flood performed by Chipping Amateur Theatrical Society.
The celebrations in the village centred on its three churches: St Mary's RC, the Congregational and St Bartholemew's C of E.
A final service at St Bartholemew's, followed by a tea in the village hall, ended a week-long celebration in which the village came together for a variety of events.
They ranged from a duck race organised by Chipping Young Farmers to costume dramas performed by schoolchildren, and a flower festival.
The celebrations, which also took place in Ribchester, Whalley and Blackburn, mark the earliest records of a Christian church in Whalley and the faith's subsequent spread to the surrounding area.
