HYNDBURN Council is preparing to sell council houses to raise funds to pay for repairs on rundown estates.
The question is, are they selling decent houses, or are they selling off the dilapidated ones to cut expenses on repairs?
In Huncoat they are selling off virgin greenbelt to private builders, to build 400 new houses, a school that may not even be used, and a leisure centre that nobody really wants.
They say the money will go to repair houses and flats, but I think it may go towards the so-called improvement of the now almost devastated town centre, to build a new market centre.
More than £50,000 was spent on new shutters for the old one less than two years ago.
The new centre will cost around £30 million which again is only the vanity of the council.
The town centre has been ruined by this council, and shopkeepers and stallholders are deserting in droves.
