BURNLEY boss Adrian Heath (pictured) today revealed the name of his Portuguese target.
Heath's number one transfer hope is Boavista striker Bambo and he is aiming to land him this week.
The Turf Moor boss is due to have further talks with the Portuguese First Division club.
And while the Portugal Under-21 striker is also interesting a Premiership club Heath confirmed: "The deal is still alive."
Burnley and Boavista were on the verge of striking a deal on Friday but there was a last minute hitch in negotiations.
Now Heath hopes the problem can be ironed out and the striker can link up with the Clarets.
Meanwhile, First Division Charlton Athletic have joined the frantic race to land Burnley target Jeremy Goss.
Charlton chief Alan Curbishley opened negotiations with the Wales international at the weekend and the pair are due to have further discussions this week.
Burnley manager Adrian Heath has trailed Goss since he was released by Norwich a month ago - but now Charlton are very much in the hunt to land the player.
Confirmed Curbishley: "We have spoken to him and and there will be further discussions."
It now remains to be seen whether Goss will hold a further round of talks with the Clarets or whether the 31-year-old will plump for a career at the Valley and stay in the First Division.
There is still a chance that Goss could even remain at Norwich where former manager Mike Walker has returned to Carrow Road. Norwich sources say he is keen to re-sign Goss.
Another Burnley target, defender Charlie Bishop, was due to sign a three-year deal with Wigan Athletic today.
Bishop spent a six-week loan period at Turf Moor and, at one stage, it appeared likely he would join Burnley in an £80,000 deal from Barnsley.
But Wigan stepped in with a bigger wage offer than either the Clarets or Carlisle could offer and Bishop agreed terms with John Deehan over the weekend.
Burnley's new home shirts are now available from the Turf Moor club shop.
Ex-Turf Moor striker Nathan Peel has been linked with a move to second division Rotherham United. Peel spent a loan spell at Millmoor last season.
