WITH regard to your editorial in which you castigate the AEEU union under the title 'Now who's the fat cat?' I think that the paper should sheath its claws until all the facts emerge and the union has had the right of reply.
Even if the story is partially true, these union barons are only taking advantage of the rules that the Conservative Government has introduced and encouraged with its emphasis on reward for loyal service.
David Mellor, Shirley Porter and Cedric Brown are three cases in point.
As for hypocrisy, wouldn't it be fraudulent if they behaved like some of these fat cat chairmen who are only responsive to their board of directors and not as these democratically-elected union men will be to the mass membership?
