TWO months ago Linda Morris was so awful on the dance floor that her granddaughter refused to dance with her.
Seven-year-old Stephanie's embarrassment at her granny's not-so-fancy footwork prompted the 47-year-old to seek help - with private tuition from top dancer Lisa Morris from Astra Dance Club in Blackburn.
And in just eight weeks Linda was dancing alongside Stephanie as part of a talented 50-strong team from Astra Dance Club who scooped second place honours at a national competition held in Cheshire!
Mother-of-two Linda, of Livesey Branch Road, Blackburn, said: "I felt so awful when Stephanie said she was too embarrassed to dance with me. I admit it - I did have two left feet when it came to dancing and decided to get some private lessons. I improved gradually over the weeks."
Linda, who came second in Latin America and third in the Waltz during the individual heats, added: "I was in shock when the club came second. I couldn't believe it. It was my first competition and I didn't think I would get anywhere. Stephanie was really suited. She was very proud of me. But we have still got to have that dance together!"
Linda surprised revellers and her husband Tom at his packed 50th birthday party with a dazzling performance which would have shamed Ginger Rogers.
