WHO'S the Charlie making heads turn at the start of a three-month tribute to entertainment?
It's amateur actor Tod Hunter, leading light at Colne Dramatic Society, dressed up as famous film tramp Charlie Chaplin to launch the latest exhibition at Colne Heritage Centre in the town's library.
A Grand Day Out looks back at Colne's contribution to entertainment, from the early days of bear baiting through to present-day dramatics.
Tod donned the famous bowler and suit yesterday to capture one of film's most endearing and comic characters, but he had a bit of problem finding a passer-by willing to donate a cane or umbrella as a prop.
"We asked one lady but she was off like a shot," he said. "Some of the young children didn't know what to make of me but I think a lot of people were entertained and that's the whole theme of the exhibition after all.
"I had the black wig, the bowler, the lot; everyone seemed to think it was marvellous. The exhibition is really professionally done. I hope that people will take the time to come here and see how the people have been entertained over the years."
The entertainments exhibition will run until September 28. It is the heritage centre's second major exhibition since in moved to the library from the parish church rooms earlier this year.
