LANCASHIRE have a tricky selection dilemma for tomorrow's championship game against Worcestershire at Old Trafford - which bowler to leave out.
Peter Martin is desperate to return after missing out against Somerset and then dropped by England for the Third Test.
But fellow seamers Glen Chapple, Steve Elworthy and Ian Austin are all in good form.
Lancashire were hoping the problem would be solved by Old Trafford's greenest pitch of the season allowing them to play all four pacemen as they did in their only victory so far at Durham.
But the horrendous weather in Manchester this week has played havoc with groundsman Peter Marron's plans and the Worcester game may now be played on the same track as the Sunday League defeat by Somerset.
It played slow on Sunday and Lancashire would want to go in with two spinners, skipper Mike Watkinson and Gary Keedy, meaning that one of the seamers would have to drop out.
It is a preview of the problems they will face next week for the Benson and Hedges Cup final when Gary Yates will replace Keedy as the spinner, Watkinson and Austin are certs leaving one of Martin, Chapple and Elworthy to miss out.
With Mike Atherton on Test duty and John Crawley unlikely to return Lancashire's five batsmen pick themselves although it won't be as easy for the final when both Atherton and Crawley hope to be available.
The Test also means that Worcester are without Graeme Hick. That's a massive boost for Lancashire as Hick piled up 428 runs in four innings against them last season at an average of over 140.

Lancashire's second team gained revenge on Yorkshire with a superb four wicket victory in the Bain Hogg Trophy at Bingley yesterday.
Lancashire had no chance of qualifying for the semi finals after being crushed by the Tykes at Old Trafford last month.
They fielded a strong side including Jason Gallian and Gary Yates but youngsters Paul Ridgway of Settle and Paddy McKeown were the stars as Lancashire dented Yorkshire's hopes of qualifying, Ridgway taking 3-29 in 11 overs.
