RIBBLE BUSES were to axe almost half of their 90 drivers at the Blackburn depot. Forty drivers were to be made redundant in August as Ribble slashed bus services in East Lancashire.
Maintenance and cleaning jobs were also to be lost, but Ribble had not disclosed how many more staff were to be made redundant.
The cutbacks were to end the conventional-sized bus operations at the Blackburn depot.
