MORE than 4,000 club-goers have been successful in their campaign to bring back their favourite DJ to a Blackburn nightspot.

DJ Tease - alias Vince Williams - returned by popular demand at the weekend after the paid dancers at the Utopia started a petition.

It was presented to the regional manager of the First Leisure Corporation, which owns the club. They decided to reinstate the Blackpool disc jockey.

DJ Tease played at the nightspot - formerly Peppermint Place - for two and a half years before he was knocked off his Friday/Saturday slot in March following the refurbishments.

The music was switched to dance and chart tracks in the main Utopia room and 60s, 70s and 80s in Paradise.

But now Tease, who plays dance and house music, will hit the decks in Paradise on Friday nights and in the main Utopia room on Saturdays.

Michaela Chesney-Moran, sales manager, said: "We listened to what people were saying and responded.

"Saturday was a really bumper night. We had more than 2,000 people through the doors.

"Vince is delighted to be back and really pleased that everyone in Blackburn appealed for his return. He has somewhat of a following."
